2012 CSPA Crown Finalists - 38 2011 Herff Jones Yearbooks Named

Herff Jones once again led the way with more Finalists than any other printing company when CSPA (Columbia Scholastic Press Association) posted the list of Finalists for its Crown Awards program for scholastic (middle, junior and senior high school) and collegiate publications at its official website. In addition to the 38 books printed by Herff Jones, 20 books printed by Walsworth, 17 printed by Jostens and 12 books printed by Balfour made the list. Fresh Ink, Friesens, and a local printer combined to add the final five yearbooks.

A total of 1,351 newspapers, magazines and yearbooks published during the 2010-2011 academic year were eligible for the 2012 Crown Awards program. Since the CSPA dates its awards by the year in which they are given, this announcement concerns the 2012 Crown Awards.

The grand total of 204 Crowns consists of 56 magazines, 56 newspapers and 92 yearbooks. Of these, 163 Crowns will be given to scholastic publications and 41 Crowns to collegiate publications.

Crown Award Finalists are guaranteed to receive either a Gold or Silver Crown Award in March 2012. No further judging will take place. Scholastic and Collegiate Crown Awards are presented at separate ceremonies at the CMA and CSPA conventions in New York City on two different days in March, 2012.
