Quick tips for submitting desktop pages

Name files according to the pages included in the file and your job number — it will be easier for you to keep track of the pages you have already created. For example: 14965-024-027.

Save all graphics as TIFF or EPS files — you want the best quality for your book so go with the graphic type meant for high resolution printing.

Scan all photographs at 300 dpi and all art at a minimum of 300 dpi (600-1200 dpi is better)— a lower resolution will detract from the quality of your photos and art.

Submit all digital photographs at 300 dpi — a lower resolution will detract from the quality of your photo.

Create or scan graphics to size — enlarging graphics or scans causes TIFF files to pixelate.

Save all graphics in the correct mode — CMYK for four-color art, RGB for four-color photos, black and white or grayscale for black and white art or scans.

Copy all PageMaker, InDesign and graphics files to your CD, DVD or disk — we can’t run your pages without these files.

Send a copy of all non-Adobe® and non-Herff Jones fonts on your CD, DVD or disk — otherwise your pages will print in Courier. Ouch!

Print a hard copy and send it with your submission — you wouldn't build a house without a blueprint (same here). Keep a second hard copy in a binder for reference at school.

Write directions on your hard copy (color info, special instructions, etc.) — you can never give us too much information.

Write your school name, job number and other info on your CD, DVD or disk — we get thousands of disks and they all look alike.

Place your DC, DVD or disk in a disk envelope and fill it out — it will be harder for your disk to fall out of your bag and get lost.

Write your job number on everything you send — you are special, but we work with a lot of schools.

Call your Yearbook Sales Representative, Customer Service Adviser or Technical Support Adviser if you have questions — for any questions you might have.
