Is there an easier way to create ad pages?
Ads Made Easy
Clean and Simple Ad Design
If you’re like Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, Washington and have a gabillion advertisements to design, try simplifying the process.
Several years ago, we were looking to find a way that would cut our time in half when designing personal ads. We really wanted our focus to be on the development of our theme, but at the same time we wanted to publish ads that were clean and simple to create. So we developed ad templates.
We chose 75 of our best designs from previous years and created templates for each. We then designed a page that had each thumbnail template displayed, added the page to the back of our contract form and asked buyers to choose.
Having given each design template a specific number, we created a library of our templates so that all the student designer had to do was open the library, find the template and place it on the spread. Simple.

After a couple of years, we took inventory of the designs used most by our buyers, adjusted a few and narrowed our choices to around 40. Simpler.
By creating a clean and simple process, our staff now has time to focus on the coverage and presentation of our book.
