How do I screen a color or create a tint in Adobe® PageMaker®?

A screen or a tint is a percentage of a color. Text, rule lines or graphics can be screened or tinted.

Text

  • Highlight your text, such as a headline, with the Text tool, not the Pointer tool.
  • Click on the desired color in the Color Palette, such as Black or another color you have created.
  • Click on the Tint: pop-up menu and select a percentage. For the best results, use 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% or 60%.

Lines or shapes

  • Highlight the line or shape with the Pointer tool.
  • Click on the desired color in the Color Palette, such as Black or another color you have created.
  • Click on the Tint: pop-up menu and select a percentage. For the best results, use 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% or 60%.

Graphic

  • Highlight the graphic with the Pointer tool.
  • Click on the desired color in the Color Palette, such as Black or another color you have created.
  • Click on the Tint: pop-up menu and select a percentage. For the best results, use 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% or 60%.
