Four-color litho with matte lamination and spot UV gloss coating
A quick glance at the cover might lead readers to expect coverage of things unexpected and not rehearsed. A bar of 11 glossy UV-coated candids showcases individual students and groups. The endsheet immediately revealed something altogether different. By considering each syllable on its own, the Odyssey was logically broken into a pair of sections, can (representing potential and preparation) and did (celebrating the accomplishments and achievement of the students). These two divisions which contained coverage of people, groups and events are followed by a 200+ page reference section including all portraits, team shots/scoreboards, club photos, ads and the index. On the opening and closing spreads, the editors masterfully crafted copy that demonstrated the contrast between the two words, beginning both blocks with questions reading out of the word can and concluding logically with the word did. Dividers emphasized just one word and all content pages included a helpful readers’ aide in addition to traditional folio information.
