Gilbert High School / Tiger / Gilbert, AZ / The Tiger came complete with a small theme booklet tucked in a plastic pocket on the cover. Inside, students found a how-to guide on surviving school plus some coverage of special events.

Seaside High School / Seabreeze / Seaside, OR / When students picked up their yearbooks, they got a little something extra — a cover that glows in the dark. Fitting the “Hang Ten” theme, the design is reminiscent of a surfer’s t-shirt.

Kentridge High School / Accolade / Kent, WA / The front cover of the Accolade features three custom-printed CDs, presenting the “Best Of” theme. A quarter-bound plexiglass back cover allows the group picture of the seniors to show through.

Westlake High School / Ram-Ler / Westlake, LA / Taking their magazine theme to the extreme, the Ram-ler inserted a subscription card for next year’s book. The card contains prices and important due dates. The book’s back cover even features an ad, just like a magazine.

Black River Middle School / Odyssey / Chester, NJ / When students at Black River picked up their yearbooks, they also got a Sharpie marker so they could decorate their cover “Our Own Way,” reinforcing the theme.

Toby Johnson Middle School / The Right Elements / Elk Grove, CA / This book’s theme plays with the chart of elements, using initials for the elemental letters. On the cover, Sd is spirit day, for example. In the people section, students’ initials become the letters, paired with a quote and their signatures.
