The staff of The Warrior planned lots of variety into their book, but they were also consciously consistent when it came to their visual devices and graphic treatments. On thematic pages, school colors abound while pick-up colors echoed from the photos made more sense on content pages. Inspired by magazines and other publications, they worked to be every bit as intentional with their design elements and generous with coverage as their professional and high school-aged counterparts. Because they understood scale and knew that size was one of many ways to make a photo dominant, they were able to incorporate a traditional copy block, a photo cluster with complete captions and several other coverage components onto each spread to show all aspects of life at West-Oak. The stories the school revealed, creativity the staff showed, the care they took all demonstrated the truth of theme: great things come from within.
